Improving the betting grid

The data science team uncovered that customers were not engaging with the football betting grids in the website. The younger age groups in particular had a bounce rate of 57%.

The team worked hard to find solutions to increase user engagement and improve the experience of the users. I led the research efforts for this project and I was responsible for conducting user interviews, assist with the creation of the prototype and evaluate the performance of the new proposition.

Research Approach

In-Depth User Interviews

For this research project, I interviewed 10 people remotely. The participants were all males residing in the United Kingdom and with some degree of familiarity with betting. The goal of the interviews was to gather insights about their experiences with betting platforms and uncover some of their frustrations.

Prototype Creation

I worked closely with the UX designers in the team to create a solution based on the insights from the in-depth user interviews. Every time the team uncover new research insights, we would return to the prototype and make the necessary modifications.

Usability Testing

After the prototype was created, I validated our proposals by running two sets of usability testing sessions. These sessions were done remotely with 12 participants each. The first set of usability testing sessions provided important insights that the team used to improve the prototype. The second set of usability testing sessions was conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the refined prototype.
